*Please note that the online registration form is hosted by Bournemouth School for Boys on their website. Please select ‘Late Registration Form’. On page 3 of the form you will be asked “Would the student prefer to sit the entrance tests at either Bournemouth School or Poole Grammar School?” please select Poole Grammar School to sit the test here.
There is one set of selection tests for Poole Grammar School, Bournemouth School, Bournemouth School for Girls and Parkstone Grammar School (the ‘Consortium’). This will save children whose parents wish them to be considered for admission to more than one selective school in the Consortium from taking multiple tests for those schools.
The tests will be taken at the school with whom the parent has registered their child. All applicants to a Consortium School must complete a Registration form to be eligible to sit the entrance tests.
Boys will sit the entrance tests on Saturday, 21 September 2024 at either Poole Grammar School or Bournemouth School. The tests may only be taken once by any child. Details of the tests and arrangements for the day will be sent to parents and students on Friday 13 September 2024. The results of the tests may be used to establish your child’s eligibility for a place at both Poole Grammar School and Bournemouth School. Bournemouth Grammar School will be managing applications for both schools. The Registration Form provides the option to take the test at either Poole or Bournemouth Grammar School. Applicants will be considered for entry to both Grammar Schools depending on their score. Parents will then need to make a formal application using the Common Application Form through their Local Authority, which must be received by 31 October 2024.
For children whose registration or common application form (or both) were submitted after the closing dates, there will be an opportunity to sit the school entrance tests in the following February for consideration after the first round of allocations on 1 March 2025. This means that children who were registered for testing after 6 September 2024 and/or submitted their common application form after 31 October 2024, but completed both by 26 January 2025, will be tested in time for the second round of allocations on 25 March 2025. Late registration must be made by midday on Friday 31 January 2025. Late Entrance Tests are scheduled for Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
