Pupil Premium
Poole Grammar School is dedicated to ensuring all students achieve, regardless of their background. The school prides itself on providing a first-class education for the Borough of Poole since 1904, through the implantation of a knowledge rich curriculum, bolstered by quality first teaching. This is established through a combination of quality first teaching alongside excellent pastoral support, high quality careers guidance and bespoke provision to meet the needs of all learners.
What is the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of money that is given to schools to specifically assist children that fall into at least one of the following groups:
· They are currently eligible for free school meals (FSM)
· They have been eligible within the last six years for FSM
· They have been identified as a Looked After Child (LAC)
Here at Poole Grammar School, we want to ensure that we are regularly understanding our students’ needs as well as informing our practice from educational research on what works. Most recently, our strategy is being developed through findings from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) ensuring that our disadvantaged students have meaningful participation and success throughout their time here. The amount that we currently receive for pupils within these groups is £1050 per student. This money is specifically designed to help us to raise the achievement level of the students in these groups, which has previously been identified as being disadvantaged through economic hardship.
We would like to remind parents that if they feel they may be eligible for free school meals they should contact BCP Council using the provided link.

The Service Pupil Premium
The Service Pupil Premium is an allocation of money that is given to schools to specifically assist children that fall into at least one of the following groups:
· They have parents currently serving in the armed forces who are MoD PStat Category 1 or 2, or have had parents serving in the past six years (DfE Ever 6 Service Child measure)
· They are in receipt of a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme or War Pensions Scheme following the death of their parent whilst serving in the armed forces
The amount we currently receive for pupils within this group is currently £340 per student per year. This money is specified to help with the emotional and social well-being of these pupils.
