GCSE

We are delighted to report excellent results at GCSE this year.  88.4% of our students achieved a ‘strong pass’ (grade 5 or above) in both Maths and English Language, 95.9% achieved a standard pass in Maths and English, and 99.4% achieved at least a strong pass in Maths.

Our Attainment 8 score per student, which measures results in certain GCSE subjects, increased from 68.74 in 2016 to 69.23 this year, at a time when both Maths and English GCSEs are being made more challenging.  We are delighted that 49 of our students (28.5%) achieved at least 10 top grades – A or above or Grade 7 and above in English and Maths, and 93.6% achieved at least one grade A/7.  All this came as a result of a great deal of hard work by students and staff, and support from parents

There were some excellent subjects results, including Biology (71.6% A*/A), Computing (84.1% A*/A), Electronics (82.1% A*/A), Graphics (82.4% A*/A), French (67.1% A*/A), History (66.1% A*/A) Maths (68.4% graded 7 or above) and Physics (74.3% A*/A).  A number of subjects achieved 100% A*-C, namely Art, Computer Science, Drama and Electronics.
