Poole Grammar School are delighted to announce the forthcoming visit of Lord Professor Robert Winston, Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College, London at 2.30pm on Thursday 28th January 2016. The talk forms part of the school’s ongoing programme of extra and ‘super-curricular’ events and opportunities designed to enhance and raise the aspirations of its pupils in making choices for the future. Pupils always appreciate hearing directly from people about their journey through life, and how they have ended up being ‘eminent’. Around 150 sixth form scientists and GCSE students, including some from Parkstone Grammar, will be given a talk on ‘The Beginnings of Life’ and it is hoped that Professor Winston’s achievements across an extraordinary range of fields, both scientific and artistic, will inspire them to make the most of their time at Poole Grammar School and approach their future with a sense of purpose, tenacity and creative ambition.

As a selective school, Poole Grammar strives to promote and extend the aspirations and attainment of the boys of Poole and its surrounding area and is consistently proud of their achievements which include, but are not limited to, several Oxbridge offers this year.
