Food At School
The school canteen is incredibly popular both at breaktime and lunchtime. It provides a whole range of snacks and full meals, with a wide selection offered each day. A main course currently costs £2.45. The canteen runs a cashless catering system. The school is proud to be in receipt of a Food for Life Gold Award for promoting healthy, environmentally sustainable eating.
At break different year groups have different times at which they are allowed to access the servery to buy food. The times change each day across the week to allow each year group to have priority in turn. Students should not start queuing until their allocated time. When queuing students are expected to be sensible and not queue-jump or push and shove. Prefects from Year 13 supervise queues in the canteen and will impose sanctions on main school students who cannot queue sensibly.
Should you wish to provide your child with a packed lunch you are welcome to do so, but we would urge you to ensure it is healthy. For students in Years 7 and 8 packed lunches must be eaten outdoor unless it is a “wet break”. Students must not take unwrapped food or hot drinks out of the dining hall.
Please note that the daily spend limit for each student is £6.00.
