Careers Information for Parents/Carers
Parents & Carers:
Parents and carers are welcome to refer their child for an appointment at any time. Please email careers@poolegrammar.com and ask for an appointment for them. Typically careers appointments take place for all Year 11s, and all Year 12s on a voluntary basis. Additional appointments are available by request.
The school recommends the following tools to assist with making choices:
https://kudos.cascaid.co.uk/#/ – typically this will be completed in Year 9 but sometimes students miss the lesson. The Licence Code can be obtained via careers@poolegrammar.com. We recommend parents / carers doing this with your child, as we cannot supervise every student individually to ensure the process is carried out methodically and with time taken to read everything. The outcomes of this programme will be referred to in Year 11 careers interviews and therefore is vital to ensure it is fully and thoroughly completed, with attention given to every question and the extra information displayed in the i icon after every question. Make sure that they have completed the second set of questions after the first 50, where they will be given a list of careers to look at. That is not yet complete, however, go back to the left-hand column hyperlinks and click “My assessments” to drop-down the sub-menus and click on “MyFuture”, then click “Complete My Future”. If they have already completed all the questions it will populate this option instead as “Review MyFuture”, giving them the chance to edit their answers.
